In classic ‘drift’ conditions the first Black Tern of the year, a moulting adult, arrived right on cue at 10:00 and was present until after midday at least. An Osprey put in a brief appearance late morning and two Whinchats were still present on the west bank as was the long staying ad Yellow-l-Gull, an ad Common Gull and two Common Sandpipers.
