Apropos the regular lament ‘it’s quiet’, ‘not as much as there used to be’; two sailors from the boat club racing each other up the res in powered dinghys about midday for no apparent reason explains part of it. An increasing mid-week occurrence.

Juv Mute Swan, Pinkfeet heard over at 0935 couldn’t be located, 31 Tufteds, drake Pochard, 5 Goldeneye, a Goosander, 35 Cormorants, 10 Little Grebes, 2 Water Rails, 1 Willow Tit. Later an adult Caspian Gull in the roost.
