Thanks to Rod Key for the following:-

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE   a Water Rail heard calling on 19/20/21/24/29th June. A drake Teal on 21/29th June with 2 Hobbies on 21st June and 1 on 22/28th June.  On 22nd June 2 Grey Lag Geese with a Little Egret flying S. on 23td June. A Redshank on 24th  June with 4 on 25th June. A Red Kite on 25th June On 28th June a Green Sandpiper and a 1st summer Arctic Tern. Finally on 229th June a Grasshopper Warbler and a juv. Little Ringed Plover.

WILLINGTON GRAVEL PITS   On 1st July an adult Mediterranean Gull mid-morning before it flew off with Black Headed Gulls and an adult Yellow Legged Gull. Also present 6 Great Crested Grebes, 6 Cormorants, 2 Little Egrets with 5 on 2nd July. 2 Grey Herons, 46 Mute Swans, 2 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 1 Pochard, 6 Tufted Duck, 2 Common Buzzard, 1 Oystercatcher, 168 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, a first summer Herring Gull, 4 Common Terns, 2 Cettis Warblers and 2 Jay.

ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PITS   On 3rd July9 Great Crested Grebes, 10 Cormorants, 4 Little Egrets. 2 Grey Herons, 34 Mute Swans included 3 broods totalling 13 cygnets, 22 Canada Geese, 20 Gadwall, 1 Pochard, 32 Tufted Duck, 1 Goldeneye-injured female, 1 Common Buzzard, 16 Lapwing , 14 Common Terns and 2 Cettis Warblers.

KILLAMARSH   A Ring Necked Parakeet briefly in observers garden on 29th June.

RED KKITES   Single birds at Fallange Edge on 29th June, Darley Dale on 30th June, Allestree Park on 1st July with 4 at Hartshorne on 2md July.
