LINACRE RESERVOIR   Still up to 8 imm. Shags here on 1st Dec.

CARSINGTON WATER   The 2 Great Northern Divers-an adult and a juv.-still here on 1st Dec. A mealy Redpoll was found on Stones Island with a flock of c40 Lesser Redpolls on 28th Nov and was still ;resent on 2nd Dec. At the Hopton end 2 Water Rails ae present in the reed bed being seen(and heard) on 26th Nov/1st Dec. A report of a Shag still here on 23rd Nov along with a drake Common Scoter. Up to 14 Dunlin here to 28th Nov. with an adult Caspian Gull on 26th Nov. A leucistic Common Snipe on 30th Nov.1st Dec with 45 Siskin on 30th Nov.

OGSTON RESERVOIR   A female Stonechat on 24/28th Nov/1st Dec, a Chiffchaff on 26th Nov . Three skeins of Pink Footed Geese totalling c500 birds flew NW on 26th Nov. The adult Yellow Legged Gull still present on 2nd  Dec and up to 4 Goldeneye here.

LOSCOE DAM   A Short Eared Owl here late afternoon of 1st Dec and again on 2nd Dec and can be seen in fields of Hogbarn Lane

MARKHAM   5 Jack Snipe on 29th Nov.

WYVER LANE DWT RESERVE   2 Whooper Swans on 24th Nov along with a Little Egret and a Goosander.

FOREMARK RESERVOIR   On 25th Nov 22 Great Crested Grebes, 17 Cormorant,27 Tufted Duck,5 Goosander and 54 Coot. The Gull roost consisted of c15,000 Black Headed Gulls, c150 Common Gulls, c2875 Lesser Black Backed Gulls, c125 Herring Gulls, 1 adult Yellow Legged Gull, 1 adult Caspian Gull, and 2 Great Black Backed Gulls. On 1st Dec similar numbers were noted but 20 Goosanders, 2 adult Yellow Legged Gulls and 54 Caspian Gulls-3 adults and a 1st Winter-roosted.

R.TRENT, SWARKESTONE BRIDGE   On 25th Nov 84 Mute Swans and 193 Grey Lag Geese in fields with 98 Mute Swans and 24 Grey Lag Geese on 1st Dec.

ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PITS   On 26th Nov 1 Little Grebe, 12 Great Crested Grebes, 19 Cormorants, 10 Grey Herons, 13 Mute Swans, 10 Wigeon, 24 Gadwall, 6 Teal, 5 Shoveler, 11 Pochard, 104 Tufted Duck, 20 Goldeneye, 3 Goosanders, 2 Common Gulls, 2 adult Caspian Gulls and c100 Fieldfares.

AMBASTON GRAVEL PIT   On 26th Nov 1 Little Grebe. 1 Great Crested Grebe, 9 Mute Swans, 2 Gadwall, 1 Shoveler, 16 Tufted Duck and 50 Coot.

ELVASTON CASTLE COUNTRY PARK LAKE   On 30th Nov 3 Goosanders.

WILLINGTON GRAVEL PITS   On 2nd Dec 7 Great Crested Grebes, 32 Cormorants, 1 Little Egret, 4 Grey Herons, 7 Grey Lag Geese, c70 Canada Geese, 1 Shelduck, 95 Wigeon, 6 Gadwall, 48 Teal, 14 Shoveler, 1 Pochard, 10 Tufted Duck, 1 Goldeneye, 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Common Buzzard, 1 Water Rai, 50 Golden Plover, c800 Lapwing, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper with 2 here recently, 17 Common Gulls-4ads and 13 1st winters, 1 Herring Gull, 2 Great Black Backed Gulls, 2 Stock Doves, 1 Kingfisher, 12 Grey Wagtail, c10 Fieldfares, c15 Redwings, 10 Long Tailed Tits, 6 Linnets, 7 Greenfinches and a Bullfinch.

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE   60 Pink Footed Geese flew N on 26th Nov and 80 flew SE on 27th Nov. A  Shelduck on 27th Nov and a female Goldeneye still present on 28th Nov with 2 Goosanders flying NE on 25th Nov and 1 flying S on 27th Nov. 3 Water Rails on 26th Nov and a Woodcock on 24th Nov along with 40 stock Doves. A Chiffchaff on 25th Nov with 2 on 26/27th Nov.

DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE   A Merlin was chased across the reserve by 2 Peregrines on 28th Nov. Water Rails and 2 Green Sandpipers are still to be seen around the reserve. And up to to 3 Goldeneye and 5 Goosanders have been noted recently.
