In addition to carrying out the butterfly transect (see separate post), Nikki Mahadevan recorded the following: Moths: Latticed Heath, Shaded Broad-bar, Silver-y, Narrow-bordered 5-spot Burnet. Azure damsels, Blue tailed damsels, Emerald damsels, 2 Brown Hawkers. Buzzard, Woodpigeon, Bullfinch.

In addition to the butterfly and dragonfly transect sightings, John Parlby spotted a Broad-bodied Chaser (dragonfly) on the reserve.
Nikki Mahadevan found a range of moths: Blood-vein, Celypha lacunana, Chimney Sweeper (3), Common Carpet (3), Common Marbled Carpet, Nettle-tap (several), and Silver-ground Carpet (5). The Bottom Pond had c100 Azure damsels and c10 large red damsels, many ovipositing. The … Continue reading
