Severn Trent have re-opened some of the Ogston site public areas today (Wed 20th May). This means we can visit the West Bank car park, provided that we observe Government guidelines regarding social distancing. (Note – the electronic gate opens at 06:00 and closes at 19:30 – if this changes in the future, we will let you know.)
Unfortunately however, we have had to keep our hides and footpaths closed for the time being because we cannot ensure social distancing in our small hides with single doors and narrow access ramps, with sanitising etc.. This mirrors the approach of larger organisations including RSPB, the County Wildlife Trusts and Spurn Bird Observatory.
Similarly, the monthly Saturday walks and birding field trips listed on the website are cancelled until we get guidance that they can go ahead.
Please rest assured that the committee are very much keeping our eyes on the ball with the members’ interests in mind and hope to re-open the hides as soon as is practicable. Further news to follow.
