The penultimate week for the transects. Still a few butterflies around on the reserve, mainly on the brambles and the last few buddleia flowers according to Nikki Mahadevan. On the butterly transect the count was Comma (3), Painted Lady, Red Admiral (5) and Speckled Wood (10).
Although an Emerald Damselfly, and Common Darter (7) and Southern Hawker (2) dragonflies were about, none graced the Middle Pond during the transect count there.

Other sightings: Bullfinch, Buzzard, Silk Button galls on Oak (Gall Wasp causer  – Neuroterus numismalis).
