JMNR Sightings – 6th June 2019

Sightings and Butterfly transect week 10 – Nikki M, 12:45, 17°C, clear skies, wind W B4

Summary of butterflies seen: 4 Orange tip, 1 Speckled Wood, 1 unidentified white (6 butterflies).

Dayflying moths: Silver-ground Carpet, Apple Fruit Moth, Yellow-barred Long-horn, Celypha lacunana.

Plenty of Azure damsels mating and ovipositing in Bottom Pond C30+, further Azures and Large Red damsels on vegetation around the site. Noon fly, Ephemera vulgate (a mayfly), Volucella pellucens (hoverfly), Red and Black froghopper, Chrysopilus cristatus (m.) (a snipe fly), Swollen-thighed beetle (Oedmera nobilis).

Chiffchaff, Goldfinch.
