A skein of Pink-footed Geese were heard over Brackenfield early afternoon but couldn’t be seen, 5 Mandarins, 15 Gadwall, 11 Tufteds, 1 Goldeneye, 27 Goosander roosted, 4 Common Scoter (3 drakes) is an unusual winter record – probably only the third in December here, 6 Little Grebes, just singles of Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel, c170 Lapwings, 2 Caspian Gulls ( ad & 1stW) roosted, 10 Common Gulls, 4 Fieldfares, c170 Redwings, a Willow Tit, a Hawfinch in the churchyard, 3 Bramblings on the feeders (yesterday also), just one Lesser Redpoll.
