ELTON COMMON   Still up to 3 male Quail “singing” 4-10th July.

OGSTON RESERVOIR   An Osprey and 3 Avocets on 4th July with the Osprey again present on 6/7th July. Two drake Common Scoters on 10th July with a Goosander and a Hobby on 6th July. A Whimbrel on 9th July with a Black Tailed Godwit on 3rd July. Up to 1 Little Egret, 4 Oystercatchers, 8 Little Ringed Plovers, 1 Common Sandpiper and 3 Common Terns also noted.

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE   The Bittern showed every day from 3-7th July with 3 juv. Little Egrets on 3rd July, a Hobby on 3/4th July with a Dunlin and 2 Curlew  on 7th July. Also up to 4 Teal.1+Water Rail, 2 Oystercatchers, 5 Common Terns and a Barn Owl noted.

CARSINGTON WATER   Up to 1 Little Egret, 3 Shoveler, a Goosander, a Peregrine Falcon, 11 Oystercatchers, 1 Curlew. 11 Redshank, 3 Common Sandpiper and a sub-adult Yellow Legged Gull noted. A Dunlin on 4/5th July, a Whimbrel on 8th July, a Greenshank on 10th July and a Common Tern on 11th July.

MIDDLETON MOOR   2 Shelduck, 6 Curlew, a Common Sandpiper and 2 Yellow Legged Gulls on 4th July.

WILLINGTON GP   A drake Wigeon still remains here with 2 Little egrets and a Hobby on 4th July.

LONG EATON GP   a Little Egret and an Oystercatcher noted with a Red Crested Pochard on 3rd July, a Hobby on 5th July, a Black Tailed Godwit on 3rd July and a Common Sandpiper on 5th July.

DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE   Up to 4 Mandarin, 73 Gadwall, 1 Teal, 47 Tufted Duck and 5 Cettis Warblers noted with a Green Sandpiper and a Ring Necked Parakeet on 7th July.

MERCASTON SAND PITS   13 Shelduck, 15 Mandarin, 1 Teal and 2 Oystercatchers on 7th July.

TWO DALES   An Osprey over on 7th July.

CHURCH WILNE WATER SKI PIT   3 Common Terns and 45 Tufted Duck on 11th July.
