WHOOPER SWANS A small movement this weekend with on Nov. 16th 26 flying E at Ogston Res., 36 flew N over Carr Vale DWT Reserve , 11 at North Wingfield, 10 at Dove Holes Quarry, 20 at Abbey Hill Floods, 6 on floodwater at Swarkestone and 11 on floodwater along Wilne Lane, Church Wilne. This flock still present on Nov 17th and had increased to 13/14. Previously 6 were at Dove Holes Quarry on Nov. 13th with 3 W at Carsington Water also on Nov. 13th and 6 flew SE at Carr Vale DWT Reserve on Nov.15th.
PINK FOOTED GEESE At Carsington Water 89 flew W on Nov.13th, 55 flew S on Nov. 16th and 139 flew E on Nov. 17th. At Ogston Res. 150 flew E on Nov, 13th, 150 flew E and 15 flew NNW on Nov.15th and 300 flew N on Nov. 16th. On Nov. 15th, 70 were over Buxton, 50 over Melbourne and 180 over Normanton Brook with 160 over Marston-on-Dove on Nov. 17th and 360 over Pilsley also on Nov.17th.
EGGINTON HALL The Cattle Egret still here in fields S of the Hall on Nov. 17th
OGSTON RESERVOIR The Siberian Chiffchaff again seen on Nov. 13th and the female Common Scoter present until Nov. 15th. Up to 8 Gadwall, 6 Shoveler, 3 Pochard, 2 Goldeneye, 4 Goosander, 1 Water Rail and 1 ad. Yellow Legged Gull all noted.
CARR VALE DWT RESERVE A Little Egret on Nov. 12th, a Golden Plover on Nov 13th with 9 Pochard, 2 Dunlin and the Marsh Tit on Nov, 16th. Up to 58 Wigeon,75 Teal, 15 Snipe, 4 Willow Tits and 2 Cettis Warblers noted.
CARSINGTON WATER The juv. Great Northern Diver still present on Nov 18th along with 2 female Common Scoter. A juv. Scaup on Nov 16th and a Cettis Warbler which was still present on Nov. 17th. A Dunlin on Nov. 15th with 2 Red Crested Pochard and 2 adult Yellow Legged Gulls on Nov . 12th. Up to 1 Little Egret, 21 Wigeon, 23 Gadwall, 78 Teal, single Shoveler on Nov. 17th, and a Pintail on Nov 16th, 314 Pochard, 159 Tufted Duck, 8 Goldeneye, 5 Goosander, 2 Water Rail, 3 Woodcock, 25 Snipe and a Brambling all noted.
DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE The Long Tailed Duck and the escaped Hooded Merganser still present on Nov. 17th.Up to 5 Goldeneye, 6 Goosander, 5 Water Rail, 4 Woodcock and 4 Cettis Warblers also noted.
LONG EATON GP The long staying juv, Scaup still present on Nov. 16th along with 2 Little Egrets, 221Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, 85 Pochard, 272 Tufted Duck, 15 Goldeneye, 3 Goosander and 9 Cettis Warblers.
WILLINGTON GP The “ringtail” Hen Harrier still here on Nov. 18th.

CHURCH WILNE WATER SKI PIT On Nov. 13th 5 Little Grebes, 7 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Cormorants, 2 Gadwall, 14 Pochard, 63 Tufted Duck, 206 Coot, 2 Common Gulls and an adult Caspian Gull.
HORSE PADDOCKS, WILNE LANE, CHURCH WILNE On Nov. 17th a Great Crested Grebe on floodwater a most incongruous site!!!!
