LONG BILLED DOWITCHER   It was seen again at Willington GP from about 09.45 a.m. until it flew off with 5 Lapwing at 11.00.a.m. on 19th Oct. It was then re-located at Highbridge GP early afternoon on 19th Oct but so far on 20th Oct it has not been seen although looked for at both localities.

YELLOW BROWED WARBLERS   Note have been received of a bird at Cupola Pools at Stine Edge on 19th Oct. On 20th Oct was found on the west sided of Combs Reservoir by the field near the bridge over the stream. Counting the Carr Vale sightings as 2 birds these are the 4th and 5th records this autumn.

VALEHOUSE RESERVOIR   A Hawfinch in the beeches above the Res on 20th Oct. 

WYVER LANE DWT RESERVE   A female Goshawk flew over on 20th Oct.

LONG EATON GP   The juv. Scaup again present on 20th Oct.

CARSINGTON WATER   The Slavonian Grebe still present on 19th Oct along with a Golden Plover.

HIGHBRIDGE GRAVEL PITS   On 20th Oct 4 Green Sandpipers, 19 Wigeon and 2 Shoveler.

R.TRENT, NEWTON DOLNEY   An adult Whooper Swan with 3 Mute Swans in a field by the river.

CARR VALW DWT RESERVE   On 18th Oct a Red Kite, 2 Little Egrets, a 1st winter Mediterranean Gull, a Peregrine and 4 Chiffchaffs. On 17th Oct 3 Goosander flew South and a 1st winter Caspian Gull present. On 16th Oct 700 Redwings flew West, 2 House Martins and 22 Siskins flew North. On 15th Oct 2 Golden Plover, a Peregrine, 15 Swallows, 135 Redwings and 2 Tree Sparrows flew West. On 14th Oct 400 Pink Footed Geese flew West, a female Mandarin and a Goosander flew North.

YELLOW BROWED WARBLER   A pager report of one on the east side of Alfreton Sewage Farm on 20th Oct.

WILLINGTON GP   3 Bearded Tits reported as being seen from the hide late morning on 20th Oct.

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE   A probable Black Kite was watched from the mound flying south late morning on 20th Oct.

WILLINGTON GP   A Long Billed Dowitcher was found at 9.00.a.m. on 18th Oct on Dead Goose Island by Steve Porter. Unfortunately it then flew off with a small flock of Lapwings towards High Bridge GP 10 minutes later. It re-appeared with the Lapwings about an hour later  accompanied by 2 Ruff but at about 11.30 a.m. it was flushed along with the Lapwings and Ruff and left to the East and so far has not returned again. This is obviously  the first record of this American wader for Derbyshire. Also this morning a Marsh Harrier and a Red Kite flew through along with a Great White Egret. Another Marsh Harrier here on 16th Oct.

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE   The Yellow Browed Warbler again present on 15/18th Oct.

CARSINGTON WATER  The Slavonian Grebe still present on 18th Oct. On 15th Oct a Water Rail, 2 Yellow Legged Gulls, 2 Swallows, a female Stonechat, a female Blackcap, a Chiffchaff, 250 Redwings, 32 Siskin  and 2 Ravens. On 14th Oct 3 Chiffchaffs and 6 Siskin flew through. On 17th Oct 1 Redshank and a Common Sandpiper. Also noted recently 1 Little Egret and 2 Shoveler.

OGSTON RESERVOIR   160 Pink Footed Geese flew E on 16th Oct along with 1530 Redwings flying W whilst 2 Swallows and a Brambling noted. On 14th Oct a Water Pipit whilst on 15th Oct an adult Little Gull and 2 Raven. Also noted were 2 Mandarin, 5 Shoveler, a Goosander and the regular adult Yellow Legged Gull.

WYVER LANE DWT RESERVE   A Great White Egret on 16th Oct.

HOWDEN RESERVOIR   2 Ring Ousels on 16th Oct.

HIGHBRIDGE GP   On 18th Oct 3 Little Egrets, 4 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 4 Wigeon, 43 Lesser Black Backed Gulls and 2 Herring Gulls ikn a brief look.

STAUNTON HAROILD RESERVOIR On 17th Oct 25 Great Crested Grebes, 9 Cormorants and an adult Caspian Gull

FOREMARK RESERRVOIR    On 17th Oct a Little Grebe, 27 Great Crested Grebes, 15 Cormorants, 20 Tufted Duck, a juv. female Goshawk flew SW, 3 Common Gulls, an adult Yellow Legged Gull and an adult Great Black Backed Gull.
