R.DERWENT, ALVASTON    A report of a Firecrest watched for about 2 minutes in with a Tit flock early afternoon on Nov, 21st.

WHITE FRONTED GEESE   A flock of 15 were watched by Matt Reed flying over Highbridge GP late afternoon on Nov. 21st. They were briefly at Willington GP early morning on Nov. 22nd before flying out at 7.40 a.m. but later 4 were found in the Cattle Field late morning. This=is is the largest flock seen in the county since January 2017.

HEN HARRIER   The long staying ”ringtail” still at Willington GP on Nov. 18th and was seen near Etwall mid-afternoon on Nov 21st and then at Newton Solney.

PINK FOOTED GEESE MOVEMENT   On Nov. 19th 100 over Chapel-en-le-Frith and 50 over Unstone. At Carr Vale NR 250 flew East in the morning and c500 flew east late afternoon. On Nov.18th 128 flew SSE with 250 flying West on Nov. 19th. On Nov. 20th 160 flew NW with 70 flying West on Nov. 21st.

WILLINGTON GP   A lone adult Whooper Swan-probably the Newton Solney bird-here on  Nov 20/22nd. Also on Nov. 20th a pair of Stonechats and 7 Shoveler.

CARSINGTON WATER   The juv. Great Northern Diver still present on Nov. 22nd.. Six Pink Footed Geese flew S on Nov. 20th and 4 Ruff and a Redshank present with a Cettis Warbler and 4 Redshank on Nov.19th. Up to18 Gadwall, 40 Teal, 220 Pochard, 6 Goldeneye, 1 Goosander, 1 Woodcock and an adult Yellow Legged Gull noted.

OGSTON RESERVOIR   A Merlin on Nov.20th  with a Chiffchaff on Nov 19th and up to 2 Gadwall, 20 Teal, 5 Shoveler, 3 Goldeneye, 2 Goosander and a Woodcock noted.

DOVE HOLES QUARRY   17 Whooper Swans on Nov 19/20th with a Shelduck on Nov. 19th.

MIDDLETON MOOR   A Dunlin, 3 Snipe, a Goosander and a Stonechat on Nov. 21st.

CARR VALE NR   A Rock Pipit on Nov.15th was late news. On Nov. 17th a female Blackcap and 4 Willow Tits noted with both specirs still present on Nov.20th. On Nov, 19th 325 Herring Gulls flew South whilst on Nov. 20th a Peregrine Falcon, a Woodcock and a Chiffchaff noted. On Nov. 21st the Marsh Tit and the Cettis Warbler still present. Also up to 52 Wigeon, 39 Teal, 27 Gadwall and 18 Snipe,

BARBROOK RESERVOIR   A Merlin on Nov. 18th

SHIRLEY   A Red Kite on Nov. 19th.

FOREMARK RESERVOIR   On Nov. 21st 3 Little Grebes, 20 Great Crested Grebes, 9 Cormorants, 3 Little Egrets, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Tufted Duck, 4 Goosander and a Kingfisher. In a small Gull roost c3000,Black Headed Gulls, c100 Common Gulls, c100 Lesser Black Backed Gulls, c15 Herring Gulls and c10 Great Black Backed Gulls.

CHURCH WILNE WATER SKI-PIT   On Nov 19th 8 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Cormorant, 2 Wigeon, 5 Gadwall, 15 Pochard, 81 Tufted Duck, 6 Goldeneye and 210 Coot.
