QUAIL    1 was at Parsley Hay on 16th June, up to 5 “singing” birds reported near Edale on 22nd June, 2 at Elton Common on 23rd June and 1 near Kinder Res on 24th Jun.

OSPREYS   2 at Carsington Water on 19th June with single birds at Ladybower Res on 16th June and Middleton Moor on 19th June.

CARSINGTON WATER    Up to 8 Gadwall, 1 Teal, 15 Oystercatchers, 2 Little Ringed Plovers and 8 Redshank noted. A Little Egret on 22nd June, 3 Shoveler on 21st June, a Hobby on 13th June, a Peregrine Falcon on 21st June, single Green and Common Sandpipers on 16th June, a sub-adult Yellow Legged Gull throughout the period, a 1st summer Common Gull on 13th June, 5 Raven on 21st June and 25 Tree Sparrows including 20 juvs at the Visitor Centre on 22nd June.

OGSTON RESERVOIR   Up to 3 Little Egrets, 6 Mandarin, 4 Gadwall, 6 Teal, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Curlew and 2 Common Terns noted. A Goosander on 21st June, single Red Kites on 19/23rd June, a Hobby on 18th June, a Dunlin on 12th June, a Black Tailed Godwit on 24th Jun, a Green Sandpiper on 15th June, a Dipper on the R.Amber on 19th June, a juv. Stonechat on 20th June and a Spotted Flycatcher on 14th June.

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE   A Bittern dropped into the reedbed on 20th June and a Little Egret and 6 Black Tailed Godwits o the same date. Up to 3 Teal and a Peregrine Falcon noted with a barn Owl on 22nd June and a singing Cettis Warbler from 10-20th June.

LONG EATON GP   Up to 2 Little Egrets, 14 Gadwall, 1 Red Crested Pochard, 5 Pochard,1 Oystercatcher and 9 Common Terns noted.

HIGHBRIDGE GP   A Greenshank, 2 Redshank and 6 Little Egrets on 22nd June.

HOBBIES   Single birds noted at Church Wilne Water Ski Pit and Glapwell on 15th June, Erewash Meadows DWT Reserve on 18th June and Mickleover on 21st June.

GOOSANDERS   1 at St. Chads Water o 16th June with 9 at Wolfscote Dale also on 16th June
