LONG EATON GP 2 Cattle Egrets were on Erewash Field on Dec 3rd. Two Stonechats and a lone Pink Footed Goose on Nov. 30th. Up to 1 Little Egret, 54 Wigeon, 69 Pochard and 6 Goldeneye also noted.
EGGINTON HALL The long staying Cattle Egret still present on Dec 2nd.
DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE The Long Tailed Duck still present on Dec 3rd along with a Green Sandpiper and 2 Red Breasted Mergansers on Nov, 25th.Up to 1 Little Egret, 79 Wigeon, 69 Gadwall, 31Shoveler, 3 Goldeneye, 5 Goosander and 4 Water Rails noted.
PARSLEY HAY An imm/female Black Redstart near here on Dec 1st.
CARSINGTON WATER The juv. Great Northern Diver still present on Dec 2nd and 9 Whooper Swans flew through. There were 2 Ruddy Shelduck and 2 Pintail on Dec 3rd. Skeins on 110 Pink Footed Geese flew SE on Nov. 29th with 110 SW on Dec 1st. The Cettis Warbler still present on Dec 2nd with a Chiffchaff noted on 4 date up to Dec 2nd. Up to 97 Wigeon, 24 Gadwall, 1 Shoveler, 220 Pochard, 7 Goldeneye, 6 Goosander, 1 Peregrine, 2 Water Rails, 23 Snipe, 4 Woodcocks, 2 Redshank, 2 Yellow Legged Gulls and 4 Ravens were noted. Max. number of winter thrushes were 459 Redwing and 120 Fieldfare.
OGSTON RESERVOIR An adult Caspian Gull roosted on Dec 3rd. There were 2 Pintail on Nov. 30th, single Goshawks on Nov 24/29th and a Chiffchaff on Nov 23/26th. A flock of 50 Siskin on Nov. 28th. Up to 8 Gadwall, 25 Teal, 5 Shoveler, 1 Pochard, 29 Tufted Duck, 4 Goldeneye, 6 Goosander, 4 Water Rails and 1 Raven were noted.
WILLINGTON GP The 4 White Fronted Geese still present on Nov 29th with 1+ on Nov 30th and 3 on Dec 1st. The Bittern again seen on Nov 27th with the adult Whooper Swan on Nov 24th/Dec 1st. The Great White Egret again present on Dec . 3rd. Up to 1 Little Egret, 133 Greylag Geese, 2 Wigeon, 24 Gadwall. C80 Teal, 37 Shoveler, 3 Pochard, 22 Tufted Duck and 1 Woodcock also noted.
NEWTON SOLNEY The 4 White Fronted Geese on Nov 29th along with an adult Whooper Swan and 6 Little Egrets.
R.TRENT, TWYFORD 2 Whooper Swans and 139 Mute Swans on Dec 1st.
DOVE HOLES QUARRY There were 17 Whooper Swans on Nov.23rd with 5 remaining up to Dec 1st. Also a Shelduck, 20 Teal, 2 Pochard, 30 Tufted Duck and 3 Raven noted with 190 Pink Footed Geese on Dec 1st and 2 Egyptian Geese on Nov.23rd.
