Trip to Blacktoft Sands RSPB – Tues 24th Nov 2015

The aim of this trip (see Trips Diary section for details) was to see the Harriers returning to roost in the reed bed, thus the late start at 11:00 a.m. at Blacktoft.  Reports from the RSPB Blacktoft website, have recorded the recent return of a male Hen Harrier in addition to lots of Marsh Harriers.  On top of this, they’ve been getting close views of a male and female barn owl.  For further details of the goings on at the Sands have a look at:

Provided that the weather isn’t too evil, this trip will run but just in case, if you wish to go, email Martin Kaye with phone contact details so if needs be, it can be cancelled at late notice.  (He will have some spare seats in his car).
