JMNR Sightings – 17th July 2019

Week 16 of the butterfly transect was carried out by Nikki M – 12:15, Wind B4, 21°C, sunshine 3%

A total of 75 butterflies were seen as follows: 1 Small White, 1 Green-veined White, 1 Red Admiral, 11 Meadow Brown, 56 Ringlet, 5 unidentified white. 2 Small Tortoiseshell were seen at the base of the butterfly bank after the transect walk.

Day flying moths: 2 Shaded Broad-bar, 1 Udea lutealis, 1 Celypha lacunana,3 Yellow Shell, 1 Latticed Heath, 1 Silver-ground moth. A few Azure damselfly on Bottom Pond.

In flower: Buddleia, Bramble, Meadowsweet, Knapweed.

Moorhen on Bottom Pond, Blackbird.
