Moth Trapping JMNR 18th May

Grass Rivulet

Grass Rivulet

The moth trap was set up on the evening of 18th May by the garden hedge. There were a few light rain showers overnight and the minimum temperature was 9ºC.

Only two moths were trapped:

1 Grass Rivulet Perizoma albulata and 1 Common Carpet Epirrhoe alternata.

Both of these moths can also be seen flying during the day, with the Grass Rivulets predominantly by the Yellow Rattle plants (their larval food plant).

Also seen: 2 Tawny Owl chicks and 1 Badger
